i need to know where to find the questions from readers that talked about it being okay for people to vote if their concience allows.
i brought this issue up with a couple of people, one a rank and file dub and the other an elder.

can a disfellowshipped person go in the KH to get literature??
by orangefatcat inthis is the question that a asked my exhusband?
he of course was all eager to call the overseer,who was my favourite on of the cong.
i was in and to ask him if it was okay for me to get any literature that i wanted.

If the person is disfellowshipped and wants literature he/she must approach an elder and the elder in turn will get it for him/her.
There's a BIG 'but', though, to getting literature when the person is disfellowshipped: The disfellowshipped person must be attending meetings and giving positive steps towards returning to the Organization.
Of course, if the person has relatives/friends on the inside that could get the lit for him/her, then the previously-mentioned doesn't apply.

I was brought up a catholic.
by captain pugwash ini went to school with a couple of jehovahs witnesses and they were ok people.some of you lot on here just need to get over it - i don't understand that if you were so bored with it -why did you get into it in the first place ?
give it up - you made a mistake - get over it - or get therapy or something.. i used to go into school assemblies etc.
and church occasionally and i was bored stiff so i presume its not something peculiar to jehovahs witnesses halls.i wouldn't go back now but whats the point in whinging about it like you lot?

Welcom. About the pedophile issue, I'm totally with you. It goes on in all walks of life, no doubt. The obsession that it happens more among Witnesses is absolute nonsense.
About the rest..., different people require different methods for getting well enough in their minds to move on to the next stage. And yes, there are many here that just love to marinate in their past; but, be patient, there may come a time that they'll stop the bitterness and move on.
As for me, I like to come here because I can relate to some scenarios.

It's not the end, but rather the beginning of whatever you make it to be. Remember the good times and put the bad ones behind you as you move on to bigger and better things.
When they announce it and people start to shun you, remember that you can play the same game. Be polite as you would with any stranger, but play their game just the same.
Concentrate in the next stage of your life and don't give much thought to the 'what will people say/think'; most people have little to say because they have their own daily problems and struggles.

Because that's what most of them are all about. I know women that will literally get depressed, and not even go to these events if they don't have new outfits with shoes to match!!!
And God forbit one should be the person that can't afford much clothing. They'll tear you apart behind your back!!! Laugh at you and make jokes of how you wear the same stuff all the time. How loving, right?!
